Wild Society Junior Naturalists

Observe local flora and fauna, ecosystem cycles, and the interconnections between all living and non-living things. Join us for a weekly 3 hour hike with an experienced guide!

Students will complete a 4 week afternoon program where they will learn about the natural environment and their place within it. This outdoor learning opportunity will supplement what your student is learning in school with hands-on experience in the natural world. Observe local flora and fauna, ecosystem cycles, and the interconnections between all living and non-living things.

  • Cost: $175 per 4-week session
  • Age: 8-12 years
  • Dates: September-November, varies by session
  • Time: Monday or Thursday afternoons, 2/2:30-5/5:30 PM
  • Duration: 1 day per week for 4 weeks
  • Locations: Newberry Hill Heritage Park (Silverdale/Bremerton), & The Grand Forest West (Bainbridge Island)

Session 1: Monday 2-5 PM, The Grand Forest West, Sept 13 – Oct 4

Session 2: Thurs 2:30-5:30 PM, Newberry Hill Heritage Park, Sept 16 – Oct 7

Session 3: Monday 2-5 PM, The Grand Forest West, Oct 11 – Nov 1

Session 4: Thurs 2:30-5:30 PM, Newberry Hill Heritage Park, Oct 14 – Nov 4

All-gender groups meet weekly at their local park for a total of 4 weeks. No prior experience is necessary. Financial aid and personal gear loans available. All Wild Society guides are experienced outdoor educators trained in First Aid and CPR.

Wild Society welcomes youth of all backgrounds, regardless of experience, access to equipment, or ability to pay tuition. Financial aid is available.
